ShilohZone Vision

The vision of the ShilohZone is to help develop Shiloh Shepherds into a breed that inspires other breeds to raise their standards as we are trying to do, and instills confidence into every person that decides a Shiloh Shepherd puppy is the right kind of dog for his or her family. In addition, we hope to earn the reputation as one of the healthiest and most stable breeds in the herding group and one that is recognized in the future by the United Kennel Club (UKC).

ShilohZone Mission

Our mission is to protect, improve, and honestly promote the Shiloh Shepherd breed. We do this by providing education opportunities for owners, breeders, and prospective buyers. Our goals are to help:

	Owners enhance the quality of life of their Shilohs
	Breeders improve the gene pool
	Buyers make good matches

We accomplish our goals by assessing the good, bad, and ugly issues in our breed. We do this by:

	Sharing data through our online database.
	Sharing experiences and discussions through our chat list, the ShilohZone: (http://www.forums.shiloh-zone.net/forums/).
	Sharing research by providing links and articles.
	Publishing a online newsletter called the ShilohZone Observer.
	Helping develop ethical hobby breeders by providing a forum for shared learning, mentoring, and support.

Measures of success:

	One hundred and fifty entries in the online database by the end of 2007.
	As knowledge is gained from the database entries, we expect to see the incidences of health and temperament issues decrease in the statistics of future generations.
	One hundred Shilohs attain SZ Keys of Victory status by 2010.
	Shiloh Shepherd reputation improved.
	Recognition by UKC.

ShilohZone Inspiration

This site was inspired by Zone members who have shared their data, their joys, and their heartaches. Each of you have contributed to making the Zone the place it is. This site, and the data it contains, would not be possible without you-- Thank you so much! We are also motivated by the efforts of the White German Shepherd Genetics Project (http://www.wsgenetics.com) to raise the bar for canine breeding practices. And our biggest inspiration ... ALL the Shiloh puppies--past, present, and future!
